Checking the AD Self-Service Suite 3.5 - 3.7 license file:

1. Open AD Self-Service Configuration from the Start Menu and click on the Administration Console tab on the left hand side. Click on the AD Self-Service Admin link that appears.

2. On the AD Self-Service Administration web page that appears, under the Configuration Tasks pane, click on the Global Settings tab.

3. In the License Configuration screen that appears, click on each of the AD Self-Service Suite modules you are licensed for and click the Validate button. Confirm that the number of Used Accounts does not exceed the number of Allowed AD User Accounts or Allowed ADAM and Other LDAP Accounts.

NOTE: If the number of Used Accounts exceeds the amount of Allowed AD User Accounts or Allowed ADAM and Other LDAP Accounts you will have a 30 day grace period to correct the license. The grace period begins from the time of the license violation.

There are two ways to license AD Self-Service Suite: by the domain, and by the members of an Active Directory group.

License All will count every user account in your Active Directory domain against your Allowed Accounts total, including service accounts. The benefits of using License All is that it will allow everyone to use AD Self-Service Suite.

License group will only count the user accounts in the Active Directory group specified against your Allowed Accounts total, but it will also restrict the usage of AD Self-Service Suite to the members of the Active Directory group specified. If a new user is added to the domain, they will also need to be added to the Active Directory group directly (no nesting is allowed) before they will be allowed to use AD Self-Service Suite.

If you are currently licensing AD Self-Service Suite by domain and you have exceeded your license count, you may wish to license by the members of an Active Directory group instead. This will filter out service accounts and users who do not access AD Self-Service Suite. For more information on how to do this please see: How to update the AD Self-Service Suite 3.5 - 3.7 license file starting at Step 9.

4. Repeat Step 3 to validate the license for any of the other remaining AD Self-Service Suite modules, such as ADWhitePages, ADPassword, or ADInfo. Each one is licensed separately.

5. If you have exceeded the 30 day grace period or need to purchase a new license file with additional users, open Windows Explorer and navigate to:

X:\Program Files\The Dot Net Factory\AD SelfService Suite\Settings

NOTE: If you have installed AD Self-Service Suite on a 64-bit operating system, replace any instance of

X:\Program Files
with
X:\Program Files (x86)

Replace X:\ with the drive letter where AD Self-Service Suite is installed.

6. Zip up and attach License.xml as an email to support@empowerid.com or as a reply to your AD Self-Service Suite support ticket.
