8. On the AD Self-Service Administration web page that appears, under the Configuration Tasks pane, click on the Global Settings tab.
9. In the License Configuration screen that appears, click on each of the AD Self-Service Suite modules you are licensed for and click Add Domain.
10. The License Domain section will appear. There are two ways to license AD Self-Service Suite: by the domain, and by the members of an Active Directory group.
License All will count every user account in your Active Directory domain against your Allowed Accounts total, including service accounts. The benefits of using License All is that it will allow everyone to use AD Self-Service Suite.
License group will only count the user accounts in the Active Directory group specified against your Allowed Accounts total, but it will also restrict the usage of AD Self-Service Suite to the members of the Active Directory group specified. If a new user is added to the domain, they will also need to be added to the Active Directory group directly (no nesting is allowed) before they will be allowed to use AD Self-Service Suite.
If you are licensing your entire domain, choose the License All radio button and click Save, then proceed to Step 11.
If you are licensing the members of an Active Directory group, choose the License Group radio button and click on the blue person icon.
On the search for users and groups window that appears, type in the name of the Active Directory license group you wish to use and click Search.
Click on the Search results entry to move it into Selected users and groups. Click the Save my selected items button to confirm.
11. A dialog box will appear indicating the license has been updated.
12. To validate the license, click the Validate button and confirm the number of Used Accounts does not exceed the number of Allowed User AD Accounts or Allowed ADAM and Other LDAP Accounts.
NOTE: If the number of Used Accounts exceeds the amount of Allowed AD User Accounts or Allowed ADAM and Other LDAP Accounts you will have a 30 day grace period to correct the license.
13. Repeat this process for any of the other remaining AD Self-Service Suite modules, such as ADWhitePages, ADPassword, or ADInfo. Each one needs to be licensed separately.
14. Repeat Steps 1-13 on any other AD Self-Service Suite servers you have installed. This includes SharePoint web servers that use the AD Self-Service Suite web parts.
